Early New Year
Cheer in Newquay
12th- 16th  February 2024

In 2024 we start our tour program with a House Party, this time in Newquay.

We start with a visit to Padstow, on the Camel Estuary, famed as Cornwall’s capital of seafood cuisine, made famous by Rick Stein. We then travel to Bodmin, one of Cornwall’s oldest towns, with its imposing granite buildings reflecting the town’s importance during the tin mining boom in the 19th century. Finally, we travel to visit the vibrant fishing village of Port Isaac. It was used as the filming location for ITV’s Doc Martin and is home to the Fisherman’s Friends choir. (Access to the village is down a steep hill and requires an appropriate level of mobility)

You will also have a free day in Newquay, Cornwall's premier holiday resort boasting eleven magnificent sandy beaches. Although well known as Britain's surfing capital, the town offers wonderful cliff and beach walks and a picturesque harbour to explore.

Our second day out will start with a visit to St Mawes, a village opposite Falmouth, on the Roseland Peninsula. It lies on the east bank of the Carrick Roads, a large waterway created after the Ice Age from an ancient valley which flooded as the melt waters caused the sea level to rise dramatically, creating an immense natural harbour, often claimed to be the third largest in the world. We then travel to Truro with a chance to visit the Pannier Market, with over 40 independent stalls, or the stunning Gothic Revival Cathedral in the heart of Cornwall's only City.
